The cities of Barcelona and Sant Adrià de Besòs will host on March 5, 2023 the ninth Unirun, the athletic competition that aims to promote news challenges in the university athletics. The race was born from the ECU (Esport Català Universitari) and Gaudium Sports in 2014.
Getting as a reference The Boat Race, the annual rowing race between the Oxford University and the Cambridge University, the Unirun wants to implicate the 12 Universities from Catalonia in a popular running competition.
The participation is opened to everyone. In the Unirun can participate university students, alumnus, futures students, professors, workers, suppliers, relatives or a sympathizer of one Catalan University. To participate you must be born in 2007 or before.
In addition to the individual classification, there is a competition between the Universities. To participate on the race, is mandatory to indicate for what catalan University you are going to run.
Starting and finish at Parc del Fòrum, the Unirun’s circuit runs through the streets of Sant Martí (Barcelona), Port Fòrum and Parc de la Pau (Sant Adrià de Besós). The route is a 5.000 meters circuit.
